Serving adults with intellectual disabilities in Knoxville since 1961.

Sertoma Center provides programs that enhance the lives of the individuals served but we can’t do it alone. We need your help. When you donate to Sertoma Center you contribute to a sustainable future for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Your gift allows us to continue the same exemplary care and services that Sertoma Center has delivered to individuals with disabilities since 1961.

Your tax deductible donation helps provide much needed funds to cover funding gaps and helps to provide everyday living experiences not covered by government funding; supports our scholarship programs for individuals in the community who receive no services; provides job and life skills training; funds art, dance and recreation therapy; helps send individuals to camp; and ensures that people with intellectual disabilities have the tools they need to be contributing, valued members of the community.

You can provide financial contributions to Sertoma Center in several ways.

Or, mail a check to:

Sertoma Center
1400 E. Fifth Avenue
Knoxville, Tennessee 37917

Your company may match your gift. Check with your human resource department. What a wonderful way to double your donation!

Annual Campaign

You can partner with Sertoma Center in providing support for individuals with disabilities by making a financial donation to our annual fund. Donors help to provide activities and items that would not otherwise be available due to limited government funding. Your contribution does make a difference.

Remember a loved one or honor someone’s birthday, anniversary or other special occasion with a special gift. A special acknowledgement card will be sent on your behalf to the individual or family.

Planned Giving

Opportunitiies to volunteer /

Special Events

Volunteers are needed to help plan and coordinate all of our special events including our Auction, Friendship Dinner and Kenny Withers Golf Challenge. Also there is a limited need for volunteers the day of the event.

There is a special need for table hosts for the Friendship Dinner. The hosts are responsible for inviting and filling a table of their friends at the Friendship Dinner.

Board of Directors

Volunteers serve on our governing Board of Directors. Board members meet monthly, serve on standing committees and help with special events and activities.

Adopt A Home

Volunteers, either individuals or in groups, can make a difference in the lives of the individuals that we serve by adopting one of our homes. Adopt a home activities include having birthday parties for the residents, having cookouts, have game or craft night, planting flowers, adding personal touches to the home, and many other ideas.

Be A Friend

Individuals can volunteer to “be a friend” to an individual served by Sertoma Center. You can either enjoy activities with the individual in their home or you can go on community outings to sporting events, to movies, out to eat, or anything else the two of you find mutually enjoyable.

Internship volunteers assist in various capacities based upon the needs of the intern’s academic program. Supervision for an internship volunteer will be as mandated by the agreement with the academic institution sponsoring the intern.
